And then, there's Jack and Doug Witter, Pacey's older, very conservative brother. The two don't get together until the very end of the series, after years of dancing around each other. Doug, who has long struggled with his sexuality, initially lives in the closet, while Jack is openly gay and no longer wants to hide. In the finale, Doug finally comes out to Jack – they are a couple, openly visible, and raise Jen's daughter together. It's a quiet, mature, and hopeful ending for two characters who had to fight long and hard for their happiness.
